Hostettler is managing partner of Cycad Inc. in Switzerland. His professional expertise in environmental engineering focuses on gravel pits, quarries, and landfills. Hostettler also worked as a consultant in forest policy with Tensor Consulting Inc. He is currently the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Swiss Forestry Journal and lectures about forest property rights at TU Dresden. Hostettler attended the 2004 Enviropreneur Institute at PERC.
