PERC is the world’s premier institute for conducting and publishing research demonstrating the principles of free market environmentalism (FME); for demonstrating the efficacy of FME to journalists and policy makers; and for teaching environmentalists and resource managers how to apply FME principles. As a result, we are increasingly known as “PERC University.”
To create a permanent “campus” for PERC University, we have launched a campaign to purchase, remodel, and maintain our current building. Our goal in this three-year campaign is to raise $2 million. To show their commitment, 100 percent of the board members have pledged more than $1 million toward this goal.

We estimate that this campaign will have a long-term return rate of more than 10 percent. Specifically, your investment in this campaign will:
- Save PERC approximately $150,000 per year in operating expenses. Ownership will eliminate monthly rental payments, eliminate the property taxes we will not have to pay as a tax-exempt owner, and generate rental income from space we do not currently occupy but plan to grow into. These savings will be reinvested annually in our programs
- Double the size of our conference room and add a reception area, deck, and patio that will allow us to host more conferences and eliminate the need to rent outside facilities;
- Give us more office space to better accommodate the growing number of visiting scholars and environmental entrepreneurs; and
- Create a media communications center that will include specialized lighting, audio/visual equipment, acoustic modifications, and uplink capabilities which will improve our ability to produce podcasts, create YouTube videos, and better connect to mainstream media allowing PERC’s message to reach a broader audience.
Perhaps most importantly, establishing a campus for PERC University will signal the permanence of PERC on the environmental policy stage and ensconce the connection between the beautiful environment of our region and PERC’s mission of improving environmental quality using property rights and markets.

The goal of PERC’s programs is to fully realize the vision of establishing “PERC University,” where scholars, students, policy makers, and others convene to expand the applications of free market environmentalism.
PERC's fellowships share a common goal of exposing new scholars, students, journalists, and policy makers to free market environmentalism, as well as enable scholars already familiar with FME to explore new applications.
PERC continues to publish and present a broad range of research and discussion through podcasts, videos, and other multimedia channels.
