Ana Gabriela Platero Midence

Gabriela is a Guatemalan lawyer with a masters degree in Environmental Law from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is part of the Environmental Department of the law firm Arias & Muñoz – Guatemala and her special focus is to assist companies and foreign investors who work in the areas related to renewable energies and the environment, in order to obtain required environmental permits and comply with regulations and auditing principles to protect them from violations and penalties. She has participated in Due Diligence processes of companies in the energy, mining, hydrocarbons and industrial sectors. Gabriela is a Lecturer at Universidad Rafael Landivar where she teaches Land Law; and at Universidad del Istmo where she teaches Environmental Law. She is the coordinator of the Renewable Energies Comittee of the German-Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is an appointed Environmental Arbitrator representing Guatemala before DR-CAFTA and EU-CAAA proceedings.
