Kate Bonzon

Kate Bonzon has a background in marine conservation and fisheries management, focusing on the interface between science and policy.  Working in both the non-profit and private industries, she is dedicated to responsible use of marine resources and production of sustainable seafood.  As a researcher and consultant for Environmental Defense, Kate is working on a participatory project to address socioeconomic concerns and how to better include fishermen in the policy process. Kate is an advisor and research assistant for Pacific Marine Farms, a start-up aquaculture company committed to environmental, social, and economic responsibility.  Currently living in San Francisco, Kate completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Stanford University.  Her MS in Earth Systems focused on Marine Conservation, while her BA in Human Biology concentrated on Global Environmental Ethics.
