Alison Berry

Alison Berry was a research fellow at PERC specializing in forest economics and policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in forestry from the University of Montana. Prior to joining PERC, she worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a supervisory botanist and forestry technician. She has also been a restoration specialist with the Trustees of Reservations in Massachusetts. Her research has been published in the Journal of Forestry and the Western Journal of Applied Forestry.

At PERC, Berry’s research was focused on forest management, particularly in North American Forests. Her essay, “Branching Out: Case Studies in Canadian Forest Management,” presents examples from Canada that illustrate how the wealth of nature in U.S. forests could be better realized.
