Kevin McAleese

McAleese is program director for Sand County Foundation’s Community-Based Conservation Network-North America. Before joining Sand County Foundation, he worked in the supply and transportation sector of the oil industry. McAleese holds a B.S. in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in history from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. During his eight years with the Foundation, he has created partnerships and demonstration projects to assist communities, landowners, and state agencies in improving the economic and ecological health of public and private forests and grasslands. McAleese also directs the Foundation’s research and management activities at the historic Aldo Leopold Memorial Reserve in Wisconsin. Sand County Foundation is a private, non-profit resolving environmental issues through private initiative, good science, and the principles inherent in the Leopold Land Ethic.
