Bureaucratic Red Tape Makes Wildfires Worse

  • Jonathan Wood
  • PERC Vice President of Law and Policy Jonathan Wood joins the western correspondent for The Federalist Tristan Justice to discuss the wildfire crisis. Jonathan notes the bureaucratic red tape that often stands in the way of sensible forest restoration and offers several policy reforms that would help increase the pace and scale of restoration efforts.

We need to get the incentives right so that states, communities, and the Forest Service are working together, so that they’re actually increasing the scale of forest restoration. That is the only way to really solve the wildfire crisis.
