Karen Clay

I am a Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management and a Research Associate at the NBER. She also serves in a joint appointment with The Tepper School of Business, as a Senior Fellow at the Scott Institute for Energy Innovation at Carnegie Mellon, and is an affiliated faculty member at the University of Pittsburg School of Law. My recent work examines the effects of pollution and climate change on health and the effects of resources on economic outcomes over the twentieth century in the United States. My work has been published in top economics journals including the Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economics and Statistics, and American Economic Review Papers and Proceedings. I received a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 1994.
