Diane Peapus

Diane H Peapus started her career as a protein crystallographer. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, a master’s degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts, and a PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. She also did a postdoc at Case Western Reserve University, and worked as a visiting scientist at Kyoto University and Cornell University. Her work includes the crystal structures of endothelin and AAL and the mechanism of TP synthase. Her passion, however, is saving the planet.  Hence, she turned her attention to environmental education, contributing to the development of the Museum of the Earth and to the Cave House Museum of Mining and Geology and running numerous community programs on topics from river otters to fossil hunts. She teaches chemistry and biology at Hudson Valley Community College.
