Smith is currently the Managing Partner of the Seminole Plantation, a shooting preserve that was established in 1991. Smith is also the Director of Fidelity Bank of Atlanta and the Trustee of Archbold Hospital as well the past chairman. Starting his career in 1971 at Life of Georgia Insurance Company, he gained experience there until his departure in 1977. In 1978, Smith joined the Atlanta Falcons Football Team and was promoted to President in 1987. Smith stayed with the Atlanta Falcons until 1991. Smith has also gained experience as a past Director of the Atlanta area Boy Scouts and VSO.
