Amanda Karns
Amanda Karns is the Land Protection Specialist for The Nature Conservancy in
Pennsylvania. In this role Amanda works with landowners to protect important
resources for biodiversity through acquisition of land and conservation
easements. A conservationist at heart, her interests include issues
surrounding land-use planning, recreational access, and non-profit
organization. Amanda also has a background in environmental education and
was the Assistant Director of Longacre Expeditions before joining TNC. When
she’s not saving the environment, or teaching about it, Amanda is immersed
in outdoor pursuits. An avid rock climber, she’s climbed in more than 18
states in the US (as well as three Canadian provinces), summited some of the
Pacific Northwest’s classic volcanoes, and backpacked the length of Vermont.
