D. Bruce Johnsen
D. Bruce Johnsen is a Professor of Law at George Mason University, a leading center for Law & Economics scholarship. Professor Johnsen holds a B.A, an M.A., and a Ph.D., all in Economics, from the University of Washington, as well as a J.D. from Emory University. His scholarship focuses on the economics of property rights, which allows him to address topics as diverse as antitrust, competitive federalism, principal-agent relations, native American institutions, corporate finance and financial institutions, securities regulation, and business ethics. Professor Johnsen has held positions in the Department of Management at Texas A&M University, the Office of Economic Analysis at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commissions, and, before coming to George Mason University, the Department of Legal Studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has published widely in both peer-reviewed social science journals and law reviews and in the popular press.
