Daniel Brent

Daniel Brent was a 2023 PERC Lone Mountain fellow and is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, & Education (AESE) at Pennsylvania State University. His primary field is environmental economics with a focus on water resources. He uses causal inference, nonmarket valuation, field experiments, and the econometric analysis of observational to understand incentives and evaluate policies in environmental markets. His research also incorporates elements of behavioral economics, such as the impact of social information and cognitive failures. Daniel is involved in several interdisciplinary projects involving water quality and the water-energy-food nexus.
