Derek Van Marter
Derek Van Marter is an impartial facilitator and has actively led collaborative decision-making among various interests for over fifteen years. His professional experience includes work on clean water and air, endangered species, watershed planning, transportation, resource extraction, and aquatic and wildlife management. Derek received his Bachelor of Science in public affairs/natural resource management from Indiana University, and his Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington. For over ten years, he has been on the national roster of mediators with the US Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution and a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. He is currently the Executive Director of the Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board. When not working, he lives in and breathes the fresh mountain air of North Central Washington with his wife and daughter.
