Ellen Bruno

 Ellen Bruno is a 2026 PERC Lone Mountain fellow and an associate professor of Cooperative Extension in the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics at UC Berkeley. She holds a Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from UC Davis and a B.S. degree in management science from UC San Diego. Her primary research field is the economics of groundwater use and management, particularly for agriculture. As an extension economist, she works with state and local government agencies, as well as nonprofits and practitioners, to improve the management of California’s water supplies.
