Joe Morris
Joe Morris is a veteran government relations and public affairs strategist who has worked in the city of Atlanta local politics and government arena for quite some time. Joe served as a project coordinator with Ahmann for the Atlanta Committee for Progress, an association of top business and academic leaders brought together to collaborate with and advise Mayor Shirley Franklin on economic development initiatives and business recruitment. Also while at Ahmann, Joe worked on Atlanta Beltline, Brand Atlanta and the Peachtree Streetcar. As the deputy chief of staff to Mayor Shirley Franklin, Joe managed the intergovernmental relations and international affairs office. This gave him the opportunity to understand the role of the city’s lobbyist and helped him gain some valuable insight on how the different levels of government cooperate. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from Morehouse College and a Juris Doctors degree from North Carolina Central University. A member of the state bar of Georgia since 1996, Joe has lived in the Atlanta area for 12 years and is married to Shondeana Morris, Deputy District Attorney for Fulton County. They have one child, Joe Morris IV.
