Matt Fortney
Matt completed a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1997. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation, managing reconstruction projects in Chicago, Illinois from 1998-2000. He then entered Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and completed a master’s degree in Environmental Geotechnical Engineering in 2001. He specialized in groundwater contamination modeling. Upon completing the masters, he worked for the City of Chicago Department of Environment as a project manager. Some of his projects included construction of a rooftop garden, conversion of a maintenance yard into a public park, and environmental investigations for reconstruction of some of Chicago’s public housing projects. In 2003, Matt entered Northwestern University School of Law and will graduate in 2006.
