Matthew E. Kahn, a 2011 PERC Lone Mountain Fellow, is a professor at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, the Department of Economics, the Department of Public Policy, and the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He serves as the Director of the Health Markets Initiative at the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics at USC. Dr. Kahn is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, research fellow at IZA, and has served as a visiting professor at Harvard and Stanford. He is the author of Climatopolis: How Our Cities Will Thrive in the Hotter World (Basic Books 2010). He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
