Micah Elias
Micah Elias was a 2022 PERC graduate fellow and is a research fellow at Blue Forest and is working towards a Ph.D. from the Energy and Resources Group at U.C. Berkeley. His work focuses on quantifying the water and carbon ecosystem services of healthy forests, particularly by understanding a diverse set of stakeholder needs. He is currently collaborating with academic and research partners towards monetizing the benefits of forest biomass utilization.
Micah is an interdisciplinary researcher with a practitioner’s background. He earned a B.S. in International Agricultural Development from U.C. Davis, an M.S. from the Energy and Resources Group, served with the U.S. Peace Corps in Panama, and has worked with rural communities in the U.S., Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
Based in Northern California, Micah finds any opportunity to be on his mountain bike, out on the ocean in an outrigger canoe, or playing in the mountains.
