Patrick Beary

Patrick Beary is an associate partner at Ecosystem Capital, LLC. Based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he manages the firm’s Latin American operations as well as leading and supporting several projects back in the United States. He works with corporate partners, mostly in the energy, manufacturing and agricultural industries, as well as property investors, NGOs and environmental scientists on a wide-range of projects with a focus on payments for ecosystem services (PES), water quality and biodiversity. At Ecosystem Capital, he also designs comprehensive corporate sustainability plans for clients focusing on maximizing environmental benefit, reducing long-term risks and creating new revenue streams. Patrick received his undergraduate degree in international studies from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master’s degree from the Universidad Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, where he was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. Originally from just south of Chicago, Patrick has spent much of the past decade over-compensating for a childhood in the Illinois plains by finding high mountains to climb and deep waters to dive across four continents. He has a broad range of interests, and until the kindle was invented, approximately 60% of any luggage he carried was crammed with books rather than more practical staples like an extra jacket or SPF 30 sunscreen.
