Prakash Mishra

Prakash Mishra is a 2026 PERC Lone Mountain fellow and an assistant professor at the California Institute of Technology. He is an environmental economist who uses tools from trade and industrial organization. Current projects address optimal carbon taxation of deforestation, carbon offset market design, and EU agricultural subsidy policy. He holds a Ph.D. in applied economics and a BSE in systems engineering, both from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Caltech, he was a Globalization Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College.
