Sara Sutherland
Sara Sutherland is a PERC Graduate Fellow Director and faculty member at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University. She is also a faculty affiliate at the Center for Environmental and Resource Economic Policy at NC State. Her research focuses on the political economy of fisheries, water management, and public lands. In recent years, she has examined property rights to fish in Alaska, the history and political economy of the National Park service, and ecosystem service valuation in North Carolina. She holds a master’s degree in economics and a PhD in environmental science and management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
