PERC Fellow Testifies Before U.S. House on Environmental Federalism

PERC senior fellow Jonathan Adler testified on environmental federalism at a hearing before the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy on Friday, July 11, 2014. The hearing is entitled “Constitutional Considerations: States vs. Federal Environmental Policy Implementation.”

The hearing focused on the authority the Commerce Clause grants Congress to set uniform, national standards in certain aspects of environmental policy and the role of the states in taking the lead in crafting state-specific environmental solutions.

Adler is the author, editor, or contributor to 16 books, and author of 15 law review articles. In addition, he has contributed more than 100 articles to magazines and newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times.
